MTBA and IMBA Australia deeply regrets that at this time we need to advise that the 2014 IMBA Australasian Summit has been cancelled. The proposed Summit unfortunately, had not been able to achieve the necessary registrations and financial support required for it to proceed at this time. We thank you for your interest in this event and are extremely sorry for those of you who have already made travel bookings to attend the Cairns summit. Naturally all conference registration fees will be fully refunded. On the positive side, we are now workin more.

Extreme Sports First Aid - Mountain Bike

St John Ambulance SA is launching a Mountain Bike Specific First Aid Course – the first of its kind designed by mountain bikers, for mountain bikers.   The first two day public course runs on 27th - 28th July and takes place outdoors in Mylor. With the sport growing in popularity – especially in South Australia - it’s crucial that those riding in remote areas know what to do in the case of serious injuries. A number of “important” mountain biking people in the state took part in a pilot run of this course to test it out, and more.

Warburton Mountain Bike Feasibility Survey 2013

World Trail is currently undertaking a study for Yarra Ranges Council, looking at the feasibility of developing a network of mountain biking trails in the township of Warburton, Victoria. The underlying motivation for this project is the need to increase tourism visitation to Warburton that will in turn provide an economic stimulus to the local economy. As part of this project, World Trail is seeking input from the community, especially the cycling and mountain biking communities. We have designed a survey that seeks to understand th more.

New dual trails open favourite parks to cyclists and walkers

A new network of dual-use trails in one of the State’s most popular national parks will be unveiled this morning. The trails at Belair National Park, which attracts more than 300,000 visitors a year, are designed for both mountain bikers and walkers and form part of an exciting network of new shared-use trails stretching across more than 60km.
